We’ve teamed up with Kernowcraft to show you three easy jewellery making projects for beginners, with each one taking less than 10 minutes to make! Plus, if you’re after a Christmas present or handmade jewellery gift for a friend’s birthday, these are perfect to try as you don’t need any experience and hardly any tools either.

Blue Topaz Snaptite Earrings Tutorial

Earrings

You Will Need…
5mm blue topaz coloured cubic zirconia oryour choice of faceted stones
Sterling silver snaptite earstud settings for 5mm faceted stones
Pusher

1) Place your chosen faceted stone flat side down. Grab your snaptite setting and place the mount over the stone. Applying a gentle pressure, you should hear a gentle click which means the stone has set perfectly in place.

2) Repeat step 1 with the other setting. To check that the claws of the snaptite settings are secure and won’t catch on clothing, use a pusher or similar tool at home and gently press over the claws to ensure they are keeping the gemstone in place. You now have a pair of beautiful earrings!

Turquoise Briolette Necklace Tutorial
Briolette

You Will Need…
Flex-Rite jewellery wire-24K gold plated (fine 0.3mm)
Turquoise briolette bead oryour choice of briolette bead
Sterling silver crimp with loop for up to 1mm thread
Sterling silver 5mm bolt ring with open ring
Side cutters
Snipe-nosed pliers

1) Using the flex-rite jewellery wire, decide what length you would like your necklace. Using side cutters, cut through the wire but be sure to leave a few cm extra to work with. Thread your beautiful briolette bead onto your thread.

2) Thread one end of the wire through the crimp and gently squeeze the middle of the crimp with snipe-nosed pliers. This will secure your crimp and hold the wire in place. Repeat with the other end of the necklace.

3) Attach the bolt ring to your crimp. The bolt ring has an open ring - simply use the snipe-nosed pliers to twist it open and attach it to your crimp.

Amazonite Gallery Pendant with Satellite Chain Tutorial

2) Continue by working from opposite sides, rocking back and forth in a downward motion. Ensure the stone is secure inside the setting before continuing. Grab your jump ring and use snipe-nosed pliers to gently twist open the ring and place inside the gallery setting loop. Thread your sterling silver satellite chain through the jump ring.
