Gold Jewel Embellished Candle

Designer: Nicola Adamson

Create the prefect focal point for your festive table with a jewel encrusted christmas candle

What you need...
  • Church candle, chunky, ivory
Nail heads, gilt: square brushed (JR5370); seed pod round (JR05422)
Claw back diamanté, smoked topaz 5mm (JR00320)
    Ribbon: sable satin, 15mm (JR03874); honey gold satin, 7mm (JR03822); cream/gold holly print 25mm (JR02099)
instructions
  1. Candle - 1. Using the candle as a base, push the prongs of the nailheads and claws of the diamanté into the wax, working along the top rim in an alternate pattern to create a row.

Measure a length of 15mm satin ribbon so that it fits neatly around the candle, add a 1cm overlap, then fix with doublesided tape.

    2. Take a length of 7mm ribbon in a contrasting colour and place around the wider band on the candle, making sure that the seams line up. Create a row of alternating nail heads and diamanté by pushing each decoration into the wax surface. Follow the edge of the ribbon to keep the line straight. Add another row of square nail heads leaving a small gap between each one.

    3. Add another line of nail heads and diamanté using the edge of the previous row of embellishments as a guide. Starting from the bottom of the candle, repeat the sequence of ribbons and nail heads until you have two equally sized/spaced blocks with a large gap in the centre.

    4. To finish, select a wide satin ribbon with a festive pattern and tie in a large bow as shown. Snip the ends into points using sharp scissors
