Create an array of woodland critters from felt with our templates

Owl Egg Cosies
For the ricrac owl, cut a back from lilac felt using the template from our pattern pages, a front minus the ears in turquoise and a chest in dusky rose. Stitch pink ricrac, 10cm, across the chest. Use white thread to stitch wavy lines around it. Cut five leaves from dark pink felt, arrange across the bottom of the chest and fix into place.  Stitch the chest to the turquoise front. Trim and place two peach eyes, filling in with black details. Stitch a wavy line also in black, around the edge of the chest, then sew a small beak triangle between the eyes. Stitch ear inserts in dark pink felt. Stitch the front and back together using white thread, stitching close to the edge and leaving the bottom open.

For the red owl, trim a back from mint felt and ear inserts in dark green, then sew together and set aside. Cut a front in dark pink and two wings in peach using pinking shears, then sew to the pink front and add decorative stitching. Fix six pink feathers to the lower half. Add a turquoise beak and
lilac eyes, then decorate as shown

Hedgehog Tag
Trim mint felt, 5.5cm x 9cm, and turquoise, 5.5cm square. Attach the turquoise to the left of the mint and create a stitched border close to the edge. Cut out a dark pink hedgehog body and peach face. Sew the face down first using black thread followed by the body in white. Add ‘v’ shapes in white for spikes.
Trim dark green felt using pinking shears so it’s slightly larger than the original panel. Place a length of ricrac through the middle, 11cm, then fix the panel to the green and stitch around to secure. Seal the raw end of the trim using glue.
