Instructions - Trim a blank to create the largest circle you can. Make sure there is sufficient card left at the spine to hold the blank together once it is cut out. Punch two holes about 5mm from the fold through both sides of the card.
Cut a circle slightly smaller than the card face from striped paper and fix in the centre. Punch holes through ‘celebrate’ and ‘happy birthday’ discs. Use contrasting ribbons to thread through the tags and blank. Position the discs as required and fix with 3-D foam pads. Tie the ribbons in bows at the top.
Use 3-D foam pads to fix a ‘party’ lettering strip at the bottom of the bauble and a few star motifs around the left hand side. Glue on some coloured crystals for extra sparkle. -
Use a compass cutter - This tool can cut circles in any size between 1 and 15cm, and it also comes with a special rubber pad to prevent a pin hole! However, the blade is extremely sharp so it is definitely not suitable for children. Olfa Compass Cutter £6.20 from Fred Aldous 08707 517 301 fredaldous.co.uk
The diameter of your circle will be double the distance from the pin to the blade, so measure out the size you want and secure the pin with the nut and bolt.
Cut out your circle by moving the blade as you would the pencil in a regular compass, ensuring that you apply enough pressure. Release any stubborn tags with a craft knife.
