What you need...

• Felt, 9” squares, red, green
  Buttons, assorted colours
  Sequins, stars,
  Ribbon, 3mm, green, pink, 30cm lengths
  Rhinestones gold star
  Thread, cream, white
  Stuffing, polyester
  Sewing machine
  Sewing kit
  Superglue

instructions

1. stocking - 1 Cut out all appliqué pieces, including stocking, cuff and tree. Sew the cuff to the stocking using cream thread. Stitch the tree to the centre of the stocking. Add a tiny gold star sequin to the top of the tree.
   
   2 Hand-stitch a short length of green ribbon to the top right-hand corner of the stocking. Cut red felt slightly bigger than the front stocking piece. Pin together and sew all around, leaving the top open. Fill with toy stuffing. Stitch the gap closed and trim excess felt.

2. tree - 1 Cut out a green felt tree. Cut a pot from red felt and stitch to the tree using white thread. Decorate the tree with coloured buttons. Secure a pink ribbon to the top of the tree.
   
   2 Cut a green felt rectangle for the back. Stitch the front and back pieces together using a sewing machine. Leave a small gap open near the tip of the tree. Stuff the tree with padding. Sew the gap closed and trim the excess backing felt. To finish, add a gold star jewel to the top of the tree.
