Take a step back in time and give iris folding a go

What you need...

  Sticky tape
  Paper strips

instructions

1. 1 - Cut paper scraps into 2cm wide strips. Fold down 5mm along the edge of each strip so the pattern of the paper is on the outside. This stops any ugly white edges of paper showing on your finished design.

2. 2 - Lay a cut-out card design over an iris fold pattern and start to lay strips on the inside of the aperture, using the lines of the pattern as a guide.

3. 3 - Glue the ends of each strip to the inside of the card before laying on the next one. When you turn the card over you will see the iris pattern building up. Take care to place the card back on the pattern in exactly the same place.
