Quill a pretty card for your mum this Mother's Day

What you need...

• Quilling strips, pink, green, cream
  Quilling tool
  Papers, patterned: pink, aqua
  Gems, adhesive
  Bakers twine, peach
  Punch, daisy border
  Stamps, Mother’s Day sentiment
  Ink-pad, red
  Card, white, assorted sizes

instructions

1. Wonderful Mother - 1 Cut a circle, 7.5cm, from patterned paper and mount onto a slightly larger red scallop-edged one. Roll quilled shapes as per the diagram on the template pages, then arrange onto the circle and stick into place. Trim pink patterned paper, 5cm x 8.5cm.
   
   2 Mount onto red card, 5.5cm x 9cm. Loop bakers wine around this and secure with a knot. Stamp ‘for my wonderful Mother’ in red ink underneath. Mount onto a white card blank, 6cm x 9.5cm, then stick the circle onto your card.

2. Mum - Cut pink patterned paper, 8cm square, and mount onto red card, 8.5cm square. Layer again onto a white card blank, 9.5cm square. Roll quilled shapes as per the diagram provided, then arrange and stick into place. Stamp ‘Mum’ on the middle of the heart in red ink, then add a bow tie with peach twine.

3. Heart & Tulip - 1 Trim patterned aqua paper, 8.5cm square, and punch a decorative edge along the bottom. Cut red card, 9cm square, and punch as before, then layer underneath the aqua paper.
   
   2 Wrap bakers twine around the centre, crossing in the middle. Cut a decorative edge along the bottom of a white card blank, 9.5cm square, then stick the others to it.
   
   3 Trim red card, 3cm x 6cm, and patterned aqua paper into two 2.5cm squares. Stick to the red rectangle and adhere to card using 3-D foam pads.
   
   4 Roll quilled shapes as per the diagram, then arrange onto the squares and stick down. Stamp ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ in red ink below the quilled shapes.

4. Wine Glasses - 1 Cut lightly patterned paper, 5cm x 6.5cm, and mount onto aqua card, 5.5cm x 7cm. Wrap bakers twine around the bottom of the rectangle, crossing in the middle. Roll quilled shapes as per the diagram, then arrange onto the rectangle and stick down.
   
   2 Trim aqua patterned paper, 7.5cm x 11.5cm and mount onto red card, 8cm x 12cm. Layer onto a white card blank, 9cm x 12.5cm. Add quilled wine glasses using 3-D foam pads. Stamp ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ in red ink onto white card and punch out. Mount onto red card and adhere. Add gems to finish.
