Winter Fairy - Cut four lengths of wire; one, 30cm, and three, 20cm. To begin the head and body, take the 30cm length and thread a brass ring, sliding through to the halfway point. Bend and twist the two wire ends together to secure the ring. Thread on two pearl beads, one petal, the large plastic crystal and a pearl bead. Set aside.
To make the arms, take a 20cm wire and thread on a pearl about 2cm away from the end. Bend it over and press along the longer section of the wire. Thread 14 seeds onto the long section and push up to the pearl bead, ensuring you trap the shorter end within them to secure it.
Wrap the arm section once around the wires of the body below the pearl bead. Thread another 14 seeds and a pearl to the other side, bend the end of the wire over the pearl and tuck through some seeds to secure. Trim off any excess. Slip a pearl bead onto the body wires below the arms. Add a small drop of glue to where the arms wrap round.
To add the wings and continue the body, thread a pearl bead onto the body wires. Take the two remaining 20cm wires and bend each into wing shapes. Push the ends of both into the second pearl below the arms. Thread a petal onto the body and wing wires. Holding the feathers together, cover the wires, pushing the ends up under the petal bead.
Wrap and bind the feather skirt securely with embroidery floss. Add a drop of glue to fasten in place. Thread the leaf beads onto a small section of wire and wrap around the fairy's waist, below the petal bead. Twist the ends together tightly. Trim off the excess and tuck the end out of sight.
