Jill Alblas has taken a fresh approach to mosaics and combined mirror tiles with glass painting ­ we think the effect is stunning. The design is quick and easy to construct, however painting the tiles does take patience, so if you’re pushed for time and looking for a `quick make’ it’s best to leave them tiles unpainted. Once you’ve got the hang of it, mosaic can be used to give lots of other household items a new lease of life. Tiled plant pots look gorgeous, plain coasters can be transformed and well, once you start you’ll find it difficult to stop!
