How To Use Your edding Colour Happy Box

These greeting cards with their stunning colour gradients are sure to brighten somebody’s special day and bring a smile to their face. They’re perfect for almost any occasion, be it a birthday or if someone’s moving house. They can also be used as an invitation card. With the new Colour Happy Boxes from edding, there are endless possibilities for colouring and drawing. For this card idea, you will need the edding 1340 brushpens provided in the box, along with the new and ingenious Brushpen Colour Mixer. This clever tool allows you to create up to 190 additional shades from the 20 standard colours.

Here’s what you’ll need:

First, use a pencil to mark out triangular shaped strips on a sheet of paper. Next, colour them in using the edding 1340 brushpens and Colour Mixer. Take the Colour Mixer and two brushpens for each colour gradient. Let’s say you want to make an orange-yellow gradient: insert the orange pen in the top of the Colour Mixer and the yellow pen in the bottom, making sure the pen tips are touching. Hold the pens vertically and wait 1-2 seconds. The yellow brushpen will have absorbed orange ink which means you’re now ready to start drawing.

The line you draw will be deep orange at first and will gradually change to yellow. You can repeat this process as often as you like with any of the colours.

Fold a sheet of paper in half to create your card blank. Cut out the coloured strips, arrange them neatly onto the card and glue them in place.

Leave a blank strip in the centre for your handwritten sentiment. Use the tip of the brushpen to give real expression to your greeting by varying the stroke width.
