Here you'll find a recipe to make summer berries jam in the microwave, courtesy of Denman College...
What you need...
- 500g (1lb 2oz) summer berries (fresh or frozen)
500g (1lb 2oz) jam sugar
instructions
-
Sterilise jam jars in the oven, then plunge the lids into boiled water. Blend defrosted fruit briefly and place in a large microwave bowl. If you'd rather have bits of whole fruit in your jam, you don't have to blend at all. Add the sugar and stir well.
-
Microwave on high power for three minutes, then stir. Repeat for a further three minutes, then stir.
-
Repeat for a further two minutes, then check for setting point. You can test this using a wooden spoon - twirl some of the jam around the spoon to cool, and if it forms peaks and doesn't drip too much, your jam is ready. Microwave for a further minute if necessary.
-
Pour into the warmed jars and cover whilst hot. The yield for this recipe is 900g (2lbs).
